All Saints Day & All Souls Day
Two very special days are celebrated every year, the first two days of November. November 1: All Saints Day & Nov. 2: All Souls Day. We invite you and strongly encourage everyone to participate in a Mass for both of these wonderful days.
All Saints Day (is a Holy Day of Obligation) it celebrates that everyone in heaven is a saint, not just the officially canonized. It is the day we honor those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith who are now saints. The word “saint” means “holy” and ALL those in heaven are holy, ALL are saints. As a Holy Day of Obligation, all Catholics are expected to participate in Mass.
All Souls Day (is not a Day of Obligation) but it is the perfect opportunity to give the gift of prayer for those who have died and may be preparing to enter the fullness of heaven, through purgatory. We pray for them to soon be in the full glory of heaven.
It is a time to mourn the death of ALL our loved ones and know that we are not alone in missing them and in loving them. Thus we mourn and show our love even for those in heaven. These two days are spiritually powerful family days, remembering the family of Jesus
Because this feast is so important to many Catholics, we are adding an English Mass at 7:00pm (Church) plus a Spanish Mass at 7:00pm (Hall).
